Patient requiring surgery
This case was designed to assess and improve team preparedness for safely and effectively caring for a critically ill COVID-19 surgical patient who requires anesthesia.
Learning Objectives:
- Manage a patient with suspected COVID-19 presenting for urgent surgery
- Manage a circuit filter that has become clogged with secretions
- Follow best practices for intubation and extubation with least environmental contamination
